Hi everyone! \u00a0It\u2019s time for another round of Drinks with the Girls! \u00a0My blogging BFF, Melissa (A Prudent Life), and I loved the spring edition\u00a0of Drinks with the Girls so much that we\u2019ve decided to make it a seasonal blog hop! \u00a0We have teamed up with some seriously talented ladies, and we\u2019ve got some fun summer cocktail recipes that will make you want to grab your car keys and run to the store for ingredients! \u00a0I\u2019ve included a list of everyone\u2019s links to their recipes at the end of this post, so be sure to visit them all and add some fun new cocktails to your recipe books!<\/p>\n

For this summer edition, I\u2019m so excited to be sharing this yummy Cherry Pie Moonshine recipe with you. \u00a0To me, cherry pie just screams summertime and I knew I had to come up with a recipe for a cherry pie flavored moonshine. \u00a0It\u2019s perfect for backyard BBQs with friends or for the 4th of July. \u00a0I love sipping it ice cold out of a mason jar, but there are many other ways you can enjoy it.<\/p>\n

You can mix it up with some Sprite or ginger ale or\u00a0you could even pour it over ice cream! \u00a0This recipe makes approximately 3 1\/2 quarts of shine. \u00a0I use Everclear for the recipe, but if you are lucky enough to have some legit moonshine then by all means use that! \u00a0Just remember to shine responsibly!<\/p>\n

Cherry Pie Moonshine {Drinks with the Girls \u2013 Summer Edition}<\/div>\n

Ingredients<\/div>\n

  • 2 \u2013 32 oz jars of Just Tart Cherry Juice<\/li>\n
  • 2 \u2013 15 oz cans dark cherries in heavy syrup<\/li>\n
  • 1 1\/2 cups granulated sugar<\/li>\n
  • 1\/2 \u2013 1 tsp almond extract<\/li>\n
  • 500 ml everclear<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n

    Instructions<\/div>\n

    1. In a large pot, bring the cherry juice, cherries, and sugar to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer for 30 minutes. Remove from heat and let cool to room temperature. Add almond extract and everclear. Carefully pour into mason jars, leaving room to add the cherries. Divide the cherries evenly between the jars before placing the lids on them. Serve immediately or store in either the refrigerator or a cool, dark place.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
