\"SimpleHey everyone! \u00a0I\u2019m pretty excited to share the tutorial for this bike rack with you today. \u00a0This project came out of necessity. \u00a0As in, I needed it or I would I was going to lose my mind. \u00a0For all of you parents out there, I\u2019m sure you can relate to the seemingly constant pile of bicycles and scooters. \u00a0I only have two kids, but I swear it feels like we have ten with the bikes, the scooters, the skateboards, etc. \u00a0If they lay their bikes on top of each other, the pedals get tangled in the spokes, helmets always get lost, you can\u2019t walk through the garage, I could go on and on. \u00a0I decided enough was enough and came up with plans for a bike rack that would also hold their scooters AND helmets! \u00a0I\u2019ve got the step-by-step tutorial for you, but you can also download the printable plans below.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Step 1:<\/strong> Assemble the base. Drill 1 \u00bd\u201d pocket holes into 36\u201d pieces. Using wood glue and 2 \u00bd\u201d pocket screws, clamp and attach to 17\u201d side pieces. \"assemble-bike-rack\" Step 2:<\/strong> Attach back. Drill 1 \u00bd\u201d pocket holes into 30\u201d back pieces. Attach flush with back of base using wood glue and 2 \u00bd\u201d pocket screws. \"bike Step 3:<\/strong> Attach cross supports. Drill 1 \u00bd\u201d pocket holes into each end of 36\u201d cross pieces. Clamp and attach to back with wood glue and 2 \u00bd\u201d pocket screws. Attach top piece flush with top of back pieces. Attach middle brace 10 7\/8\u201d down from top piece. \"diy-bike-rack\"Step 4:<\/strong> Attach 2x2s. Measure \u00bd\u201d in from each end of the base. Place 2\u00d72 pieces on each end and drill a pilot hole into the top and bottom of the 2\u00d72. Screw 2\u201d wood screws into into the 2x2s attaching them to the base and the back, making sure to check for square on the back.
