your wine bottles and glasses. \u00a0I first built this DIY wine cabinet last spring as a giveaway with Kreg Jig. \u00a0Yep! \u00a0One lucky reader actually won this beautiful wine cabinet! \u00a0I was kind of sad to let it go, but I\u2019m hoping the recipient of this cabinet is loving it! \u00a0I\u2019ve got the step-by-step tutorial for you as well as the printable plans, which you can download <strong>HERE<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Before we get started, make sure you read through the entire post and the plans to make sure you do miss any important steps or tips. \u00a0The cut list and cut it down to size. \u00a0I drilled 1 1\/2\u2033 <strong>pocket holes<\/strong> into each end of the 2\u00d72 rails and glued and attached them to the legs with <strong>2 1\/2\u2033 pocket screws<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-6088\" data-lazy-src=\"https:\/\/addicted2diy.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/08\/edited-8610.jpg\"><\/p>\n<p>I used my <strong>Kreg Rip-Cut<\/strong> to cut the plywood pieces for the sides and shelves. \u00a0If you don\u2019t have a table saw or a Rip-Cut you can ask the helpful employees at your local home improvement store to cut them down for you. \u00a0Just remember that their cuts won\u2019t always be the exact dimensions you were hoping for (I\u2019m usually told +\/- 1\/8\u2033), so make sure to modify the rest of the measurements to match the width of the panels.<\/p>\n<p><img place, flush with the inside edge of the cabinet legs and rails. \u00a0I clamped everything in place and attached the panels with <strong>1 1\/4\u2033 pocket screws<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><img the frame. \u00a0The top rails are flush with the tops of the legs. \u00a0The bottom rails are 2 7\/8\u2033 up from the bottom of the legs.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" \u00a0Drill 3\/4\u2033 pocket holes into each side and clamp into place so it is flush with the top side of the bottom rails. \u00a0Attach with 1 1\/4\u2033 pocket screws.<\/p>\n<p><img 1\/4\u2033 pocket screws. \u00a0During this time, I also started filling all of the pocket holes with wood filler.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full data-lazy-src=\"https:\/\/addicted2diy.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/08\/edited-8632.jpg\"><\/p>\n<p>When I was ready to make the X for the wine storage, I measured the diagonal legth and cut my plywood pieces to size. \u00a0I found the center point of each of the plywood pieces and figured out the center based on the 3\/4\u2033 width of the plywood panel it would be connecting to. \u00a0The length of my notch was also determined by finding the middle of the board. \u00a0I used my sliding miter saw to make the cuts for the 3\/4\u2033 thickness and then made a few extra relief cuts in between. \u00a0I used a 3\/4\u2033 chisel to break out the rest of the wood and clean up the inside of the notch.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full the cabinet. \u00a0The X will be 3\/4\u2033 of an inch inset to allow for the trim to be flush with the cabinet face.<\/p>\n<div class=\"mailmunch-forms-in-post-middle\" style=\"display: none the frame of the cabinet and marked the inside of the trim with pencil.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-6097\" data-lazy-src=\"https:\/\/addicted2diy.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/08\/edited-8646.jpg\"><\/p>\n<p>I then determined the angles by lining up my pencil lines on my miter saw. \u00a0Once the trim pieces were cut, I glued and nailed them into place with 1 1\/4\u2033 brad nails.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-6098\" to use 1\/2\u2033 plywood instead.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-6100\" 1\/2\u2033 plywood on the bottom, I used 1\u2033 brad nails.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-6101\" data-lazy-src=\"https:\/\/addicted2diy.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/08\/edited-8650.jpg\"><\/p>\n<p>I sanded and stained the cabinet, added the drawer slides and then we nailed the back on. \u00a0I had my husband help me with this step as I had a horrible shoulder injury I was dealing with. \u00a0In fact, I pretty much had to build this entire cabinet with one arm. \u00a0There were a lot of tears involved;) \u00a0To attach the top, I cut a pine project panel down to size so there would be a 3\/4\u2033 overhang on three sides and flush on the back. \u00a0I glued it to the cabinet top and countersunk 2\u2033 wood screws to secure it. \u00a0<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-6102\" src=\"data:image\/svg+xml,%3Csvg%20xmlns='http:\/\/www.w3.org\/2000\/svg'%20viewBox='0%200%20431%20630'%3E%3C\/svg%3E\" alt=\"wine cabinet\" width=\"431\" height=\"630\" middle shelf is big enough to hold plenty of wine glasses and corkscrews and other wine accessories can be stored in the drawer. \u00a0Like I said, this is a great weekend project, and perfect if
