the perfect example of that! \u00a0Not only do you get a full length mirror, but you also get hidden storage for things like jewelry. \u00a0<br \/><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" the price tags on them. \u00a0I knew I could easily build one for a fraction of the price, and have it fit perfectly with my home decor. \u00a0Hopefully I\u2019m not the only one, but prior to building this, I used to stand on a step stool in front of my bathroom mirror in an attempt to get a full-length view of what I was wearing. \u00a0There were plenty of times I almost fell off of said step stool. \u00a0Usually when I was trying to match a dress to heels. \u00a0<\/p>\n<p>When designing this DIY full length mirror, I knew I wanted it to have more than one purpose. \u00a0Given that I was having issues with trying to keep my jewelry organized, I knew just what I wanted to do with the mirror. \u00a0Give it hidden jewelry storage!<\/p>\n<h2>How To Build A Full Length Mirror<\/h2>\n<p>Before getting started, make sure you <b>download the printable plans<\/b> to get the materials list and cut list for this project.<\/p>\n<h3>STEP 1<\/h3>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" select pine for this project, but you can use whatever type of wood you like. \u00a0Select pine is free of knots, which makes for a very nice surface for painting and you won\u2019t have to worry about the tannins in the wood bleeding through wherever there are knots.<\/p>\n<h3>STEP 2<\/h3>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-7529\" cut and pocket holes are drilled, it\u2019s time for assembly. \u00a0I used 1 1\/4\u201d pocket screws and wood glue to attach all of my pieces. \u00a0I started by assembling the outside frame of the mirror, then attached the 1\/2\u201d plywood back. \u00a0<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-7522\" inside the frame and is attached with 1 1\/4\u201d brad nails. \u00a0The inner frame pieces then sit on top of the 1\/2\u201d plywood. \u00a0There should be 4\u201d of space between the inner and outer frame pieces.<\/p>\n<h3>STEP 3<\/h3>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-7525\" pieces are attached, clamp the upper and lower inner frame pieces in place. \u00a0Again, there should be 4\u201d of space between the inner and outer frame pieces. \u00a0Attach the pieces with wood glue and 1 1\/4\u201d pocket screws.<\/p>\n<h3>STEP 4<\/h3>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-7526\" frames are assembled, cut 4\u201d pieces to for the shelves\/dividers. \u00a0Place as desired (I placed two on each side, spaced evenly), and nail into place with 1 1\/4\u201d brad full length mirror is assembled, it\u2019s time to add the face pieces. \u00a0The top and bottom pieces are nailed in place. \u00a0Measure and cut to size the top and bottom pieces, cutting them on a 45 degree angle. \u00a0Glue and nail them in place, flush with the top and bottom (and corners) of the mirror frame using 1 1\/4\u201d brad nails.<\/p>\n<h3>STEP 6<\/h3>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-7524\" src=\"data:image\/svg+xml,%3Csvg%20xmlns='http:\/\/www.w3.org\/2000\/svg'%20viewBox='0%200%20750%20500'%3E%3C\/svg%3E\" alt=\"Adding !important;\"><\/div>\n<p>Once the top and bottom face pieces are added, the doors can be attached. \u00a0Measure and cut to size the doors for the mirror. \u00a0Install simple hinges such as utility hinges approximately 10\u201d from the top and the bottom of the mirror. \u00a0To get the mirror doors to sit flat against the frame, it is best to mark and chisel out the area where the hinges will be attached. \u00a0I didn\u2019t do this, due to mine being a little more decorative and I really wish I had. \u00a0Attach the doors to the frame using the screws included with the hinges. \u00a0Note that you will be removing the doors prior to finishing. \u00a0They are attached in place to determine where the holes will be for the screws.<\/p>\n<h3>STEP 7<\/h3>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" mirror to be attached. \u00a0Use wood glue and 1\u201d nails to attach these. \u00a0They should be flush with the top of the mirror frame (not the doors).<\/p>\n<h3>STEP 8<\/h3>\n<p><img \u00a0Sand with 220 grit sandpaper.<\/p>\n<h3>STEP 9<\/h3>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-7519\" Coffee in a satin sheen. \u00a0Once the project is finished, reattach the doors. \u00a0Attach the mirror with adhesive, such as DynaGrip All-Purpose adhesive.<\/p>\n<h3>STEP 10<\/h3>\n<p><img
