All of these materials can be purchased from <strong>The Home Depot<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>6 \u2013 1\u00d76 boards at 8\u2032 long (you can use pine or cedar)<\/li>\n<li>2 \u2013 1\u00d78 boards at 6\u2032 long (again, pine or cedar)<\/li>\n<li>1 1\/4\u2033 outdoor deck screws<\/li>\n<li>wood glue<\/li>\n<li>220 grit sandpaper<\/li>\n<li>outdoor stain (or paint)<\/li>\n<li>miter saw<\/li>\n<li>jigsaw<\/li>\n<li>orbital sander<\/li>\n<li>drill or impact driver<\/li>\n<li>hammer, nail, and string (for drawing your circle)<\/li>\n<li>tape measure<\/li>\n<li>pencil<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Step 1:<\/h2>\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"576\" of the boards in half and stack them perpendicular to each other. \u00a0This will create not only a heavy cover, but the perpendicular boards will make it extremely strong. \u00a0Measure and mark the center of the boards for the circle. \u00a0When doing this, be mindful of the locations of knots. \u00a0Also know that the side facing up will ultimately become the bottom of the cover.<\/p>\n<h2>Step and mark 23 1\/2\u2033 out from the nail and tie the string around your pencil so that it lines up with that mark. \u00a0Use the string as a guide to draw a light circle. \u00a0The wood is not secured yet, so if you pull too hard the boards will move. \u00a0This circle is only to act as a guide right now to help with screw placement.<\/p>\n<h2>Step 4:<\/h2>\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure order. \u00a0Squeeze wood glue over the entire surface of the bottom layer. \u00a0Do this quickly so that the glue doesn\u2019t begin to dry as you\u2019re working.<\/p>\n<div bottom layer, making sure to keep the boards lined up and reforming the circle you just drew.<\/p>\n<h2>Step 5:<\/h2>\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter\"><img deck screws. \u00a0Be sure to add screws to the outside of the circle as well as to the inside to secure all of the boards together tightly while the glue cures. \u00a0Use the circle as a guide as you place your screws so that you do not risk cutting into any of them when the circle is cut, and also ensure you have enough close to the circle\u2019s edge that the wood will hold together
